IDA Approval
The award-winning International Dark Sky Places (IDSP) Program was founded in 2001 to encourage communities, parks and protected areas around the world to preserve and protect dark sites through responsible lighting policies and public education.
IDA’s Fixture Seal of Approval program certifies outdoor lighting fixtures as being Dark Sky Friendly, meaning that they minimise glare while reducing light trespass and sky-glow.
All products approved in the program are required to be fully shielded and to mizzen the amount of blue light in the nighttime environment. All fixtures must be 3000 kelvin or lower and emit no light above 90 degree’s in order to reduce light pollution and sky glow.
